Investment advisory firm BlackToro Asset Management has made one of its first hires in Miami since launching earlier this year, the group confirmed to Citywire.
Agustín Pozzoli was recruited by the firm in February as a senior relationship manager where he will be focused on builiding ties with ‘banks and brokers in the US and with institutional and UHNW clients from both Latin America and the United States,’ a spokesperson for BlackToro said in an emailed statement.
He reports to Xavier Tarradellas, BlackToro’s head of commercial relations, the firm added.
Pozzoli previously worked at Puente Asesores, an advisory and brokerage firm in Argentina where he served as a research analyst for its wealth management business covering equity, fixed income and mutual fund investments.
BlackToro, headquartered on Brickell Avenue in Miami, was launched at the start of this year by a group of Latin American executives looking to provide financial services to private and institutional clients across the US and Latin America. Its founding members include Gabriel Ruiz, Matthew Beem, Fernando Marengo, Alejandro Goldaracena, Xavier Tarradellas and advisory board members Cooper Abbott and Ricardo Arriazu.
The RIA was granted its advisory licence in September 2021 but began ramping up its business at the turn of this year, Ruiz, BlackToro’s president, told Citywire back in February this year.
Ruiz also serves as president of Latin American asset manager Delta Asset Management where he’s worked since 2005. He stepped down as its CEO in 2020 to pursue other opportunities. BlackToro has no affiliation with Delta AM.
